Headshots and Fashion

Many models who are just starting out need a few good images to send to modeling agencies or post in a portfolio on a web site. To start with you just need a few good headshots and a few casual fashion shots. There's nothing worse than posting low quality snapshots. It makes you look unprofessional and greatly reduces the chance that legitimate photographers and agencies will contact you with offers of work. You need good shots, and ModShots can provide them.

Unfortunately some photographers take advantage of beginners by charging them high rates for average quality shots and  providing poor service. Others may provide great service and  produce great images, but they do more than a beginner needs and charge more than a beginner can afford. That's where ModShots comes in.

We can offer a basic portfolio shoot for $150. That's a flat fee and includes up to two hours shooting with costume changes, plus editing of the images and a CD with at least 20 different high quality images, usually many more.

If you are really "strapped for cash" we can also offer a VERY basic shoot for $75. This would be a series of headshots and casual dress shots in whatever outfit you are wearing at the time. We'd shoot for about 30 minutes with no costume changes. A very basic service, but still enough to give you a selection of professional quality shots you can use for promotion on the web or in your portfolio.

TFP/TFCD

TFP ("time for prints") or TFCD ("time for CD") is a means for both photographer and model to obtain images for their portfolios without cost. In exchange for a model's time she recieves a CD of digital images which she can print out or use on the web for promotional purposes.

Obviously we can't offer every model a TFCD shoot or we'd go out of business. However if a model has a particular look or style that we would like to add to our portfolio, then a TFCD shoot can be arranged.

Please contact us if you're interested in this, but note that we will be shooting images that we need for our portfolio as much as you need for yours, so this usually won't be so comprehensive as our standard portfolio shoot (which is 100% shot for the model).

Location and Scheduling

We're located in Southern Morris County, NJ. At the present time (Summer 2006) we are not scheduling any "in studio" shoots due to a number of factors including travel plans and scheduled remodelling work.

However we are doing occasional shoots on location, so there's a chance we may be shooting near you at some point. Please contact us if you're in the New Brunswick (New Jersey, not Canada!) area and would like us to let you know when we'll be shooting near you.

We can also shoot at your choice of location, though there may be additional travel and setup charge added to the normal fee.
